It seems like every time I get back from a trip I feel compelled to do a little nesting. I guess it’s cause I’m glad to be home!
Today I’m on an organizing kick and it feels great! A couple times each year I try to throw out/give away 20 items per room. It usually takes me about a week to make a sweep of the house and when I’m done I feel lighter than air! Clutter=chaos and I don’t like chaos in my home.
Today’s focus was my laundry room/craft room, which meant I parted with, among other things, those pesky socks that will forever be single, bits of ribbon not long enough to tie around even the smallest package and an ugly basket I will never, ever, use. Of course that motivated me to clean my laundry room to a dazzling shine. With its crisp white cabinets, apple green walls and black and white checkerboard floor, it once again feels calm, organized and, dare I say, like a place I don’t mind being!
Try it out. Tell me what you think- I bet you feel as “cleansed” as I do. An added bonus? You’ll be helping out Goodwill, a homeless shelter or family member that can really use your excess.
