The weather is beautiful for tonight’s Wine-d Up Wednesday. It’s pouring wine, not rain, tonight. Now there’s a switch!
Here’s what we’ve selected for you this evening:
Leitz Dragonstone Riesling Germany $13.99
Our most popular Riesling is back, and at a fantastic price! Classic German Riesling here, crisp and clean all the way. Aromas of pear, apple, and lime are bright and inviting, and in the mouth the wine is lively and fresh; with real purity of fruit backed with a mineral spine that screams “I’m a German Wine!”.
La Vis Sauvignon Blanc Italy $10.99
Italy gets pigeonholed for the white wines they produce; Pinot Grigio, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Grigio. La Vis produces several white wines to relieve you from the doldrums of more Pinot Grigio, and this juicy Sauvignon is one of them. Mouthwatering flavors of citrus, quince, and lily are set on a structurally solid frame. This crisp white has all of the raciness of the varietal and a finish that is clean.
Chateau Donjon Minervois Rose France $11.99
Rose season is upon us, so get into the season with Donjon. Drawing on the varietals of southern France: Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault; this rose is bright and flavorful, featuring flavors of cherry, raspberry, apple and citrus that are delicate and provocative. The finish is mineral intensive, leaving you feeling refreshed.
Siete 7 Spain $9.99
Siete 7 is a fruit bomb, pure and simple. Blended from Garnacha and Tempranillo; this medium weight red displays tons of easygoing, jammy red fruits. Raspberry, currant, blackberry and cherry flavors are kept in check by a well balanced acidity and mild, polished tannin. This is a great little porch wine; even try it with a chill.
Cousino-Macul Cabernet Sauvignon Chile $9.99
This wine is a strong contender in the “Best Red Under 10” category. Pure Cab through and through; Cousino-Macul offers a very true interpretation of the Varietal. Stainless fermented doesn’t need to mean spineless, as evidenced by this red. Bold and dark with black currant, raspberry, clove, and herb flavors that are exacting and enticing; this red is full bodied and proud of it.
