La Vis Pinot Grigio & Pinot Noir
$10.99
AISLE 9A
One of the most delicious Pinot Grigio's we tasted in awhile, lots of bright fruit flavors. Delicately perfumed with scents of flowers and spice, it features almond, tangerine and apricot fruits. Softly textured and balanced with a crisp citrus finish.
PAIRINGS: A delicious aperitif or pair it with seafood and salads.
Neil Ellis Sincerely Sauvignon Blanc
11.99
AISLE 7A
Fresh, with nicely defined chalk, grass and lime flavors. Nice bracing hint to the finish. Drink now. 14,000 cases made.
PAIRINGS: Shell fish, assorted sea foods, chicken, goat cheese, pasta in light cream sauces
Neil Ellis Sincerely Shiraz
$13.99
Aisle 7A
The release of a Shiraz under the Sincerely label for Neil Ellis allows this well known producer to get back into the value category for his red wines. This has all the varietal hallmarks with a floral, violet lift on the nose along with a subtle herbal, smoky character lifted with higher-pitched red currant and raspberry fruit. Medium bodied there is a vibrant tone to the red berry fruit which is carried through the palate on a lively wave of acidity, accentuated by a touch of smokiness on the finish. Quite refreshing and vibrant in both flavor and aromatics this is made for mid term drinking and has the structure to really work with a lot of diverse food pairings.
PAIRINGS: Grilled lamb chops, smoked meats, grilled sausages
Susana Balbo Crios Malbec
$15.99
AISLE 7A
A huge malbec, this is generous and gentle, as satisfying as a bowl of blackberries with cream. Its soft tannins and mellow acidity are complimented by the warmth of its alcohol. Give it a year or two to gain in complexity.
PAIRINGS: Grilled lamb chop, Grilled pork chop, Steak
Big Tattoo Red
$8.99
Aisle 7A
This wine comes from two brothers, Alex, a wine importer, and Erik, a tattoo artist, who wanted to pay homage, in a non-serious way, to their late mother who suffered from cancer. They decided to label and bottle their own wine and donate the proceeds to a good cause. With their combined talents and effort, they created Big Tattoo Red. For every bottle sold, 50 cents is being donated to the Arlington, Virginia Hospice and a breast cancer research foundation in the name of Liliana S. Bartholomaus. Introduced in the Winter of 2002, sales from Big Tattoo Wines has raised over $850,000 for charity.
This blend packs a powerhouse of fruit. Aromas of ripe berry fruit and plums set the stage for an explosion of fruit in the mouth with flavors of blackberries, black cherries, and cocoa that all come together on the rich and lingering, finish.
PAIRINGS: BBQ, GRILLED PORK CHOPS, GRILLED VEGGIE SALAD, STEAK TACOS
