Alta Vista Torrontes

Ah Torrontes, what a fasinating wine. It seems every one we tell, turn on to or let taste falls in love with this unique wine. Indeginous to Argentina Torrontes has the acidity of Itailian Pinot Grigio the grassyness of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and the minerality of white Bordeaux but with it's own original South American twist. The essence of bubble gum makes you think it might come off sweet but no sugar here just a lovely balance of flowers,herbs and crushed stone. Very cool wine and a must try.
Food: Asain, Thai or spicy cuisine, fruit and cucumber salads, bell pepper and asparagus pizza.

Fried stuff out the ying yang here. The waffle fries are great. They also have fried jalapenos with cream cheese and cheddar, breaded mushrooms and soft pretzels. The signature is the Big Bob: ham, swiss, bacon and grilled onions. If you need greasy food to absorb your drink, they've got it.

These are big burgers. Half pounders, unless you get the double and that's 10 ounces. It requires an architect and an engineer to put these things together.

This is dive beyond compare. In 1972 the back half of the building fell off and they just bricked it in. They fry about 10,000 burgers a year. There's soup daily in the crock pot, but it's not a big crock pot, so you'll need to get there early.

Rob and I went to the Cincinnati Nature Center a few days ago and spent a fantastic couple of hours hiking the trails. If you haven't been lately, be sure to check it out. You'll be amazed what even a short amount of time spent in the woods, by a waterfall or in a field of wild flowers will do for you!

Yet another affordable masterpiece from Aussie phenom wine maker Chris Ringland. This is the newest best bang for the buck from the great portfolio of importer Dan Phillips ruler of the Grateful Palate. Strong Arms isn't high octane or over spiced it's flavors are bold yet balanced with out getting to loud or out of hand. The finish is long and smooth with just the right kiss of blue and blackberry currant. 91 points Wine Advocate.
Food: Bbq pork or chicken, bison burgers with bacon and blue cheese.
